A word from founder Kate Scrace...

‘Having had over 25 years of experience in financial services, it felt like the creation of Kascade Financial Planning was a now or never moment. If I don’t do this now, perhaps I never will. How would it feel to get to the end of my career having never realised the vision of my company in my head? I have had countless conversations with clients over the years about their goals and now I found myself pondering on an exciting adventure of my own - if I was brave enough.

My vision for Kascade was so much more than following the traditional model of ‘financial advice’. In truth, that is the easy part. If you have taken the exams (which I have) and worked as an adviser for long enough (which I have), plugging in financial products and portfolios is not too difficult. Instead, it is the connection we build with people that is far more nuanced and artful – and far more necessary to make a real difference to their lives.

I believe life’s value is in how we nurture relationships, preserve balance and pursue growth. These are the things that matter.

Understanding the human aspects, the emotional responses and something we call ‘fearnertia’ (a mix of fear and inertia) around money is the hard part. And by far, the more important part. Honestly, I think I do it well. I am told I do it well. It was these voices, and the drive to create a practice that capitalises on all my experience, that moved me towards making this happen.'
